Mrs. Claus
You are Mrs. Claus – the mastermind behind the operation, in charge of making Christmas magical and you rock at it. If you’ve been waiting for it to be socially acceptable to decorate for Christmas, forget about the haters and go for it even earlier if you feel like it. Science has confirmed that decorating earlier for the holidays actually makes us happier! “Psychologist Deborah Serani confirmed to TODAY that it’s true. . People who decorate earlier are simply tapping into the excitement of the holidays before the rest of us — which makes them happier.”
Another benefit of decorating for Christmas in early November is that it can be very time consuming to decorate. This is especially true if you have a larger collection of decor. It can be enjoyable to start decorating at this time to take your time to decorate each space and not get stressed out trying to do it all in a couple days.
Turkey Classic
The Turkey Classic is the fan favorite – 47% of people decorate the last week of November, starting the day after Thanksgiving. This is partially due to historical traditions of going out to buy a fresh cut tree the day after Thanksgiving. This time is also beneficial if you like to make sure Thanksgiving has all the “spotlight” if you will, before the Christmas festivities take over. This is also a great option for those who don’t necessarily enjoy an abundance of decor and Knick knacks around the home as Christmas decor often tends to be. If you do choose to head out shopping for holiday decor at this time be prepared for large crowds of Turkey Classics. It might be a good idea to start buying any decor you’re planning to put up and have it ready to go when you plan to decorate while enjoying left overs.
Chill Christmas
The Chill Christmas is the for those who love making Christmas magical but don’t feel like it needs to be a multi-month affair. You might be a very busy individual who doesn’t mind being fashionably late. Christmas will still be magical no matter how long your Christmas decor was up or how it compares to your neighbors’ decorations. You might be in an overwhelming season right now so Christmas decorations are low on the Priority list. Perhaps you’re just trying to have a relaxing, chill Christmas this year and prioritize experiences over decorations.
