The crisp cool air and scents of cinnamon are settling in for the fall season. As we pull out our fall decor here are some ideas to decorate a fall inspired bathroom.
How to Decorate a Bathroom for Fall
Fall decor is usually a staple piece on mantels and as pumpkins found on the front porch but the bathroom is another great way to create a beautiful cozy feeling for those in your home and guests. If you consider some key elements and ideas – your fall bathroom decor can look cozy and modern.
1. Consider a Neutral Color Pallet
This fall season, warm neutral tones of beige, brown and creams have been taking target and influencer trends by storm. In order to maintain a modern look in the space that felt warm yet elevated. I used a mix of white and cream colored pumpkins throughout the vanity and shelves in this bathroom which keeps the fall vibes present yet subtle. It is important to decide on a color scheme – whether its neutral or traditional oranges and stick with it in order to create a cohesive look.
2. Add Dried Fall Florals
Florals are one of the classiest ways to add fall decor into a space because many dried florals have beige tones and symbolize the classic “harvest time” when crops have dried. I utilized bunny tail grass from hobby lobby in this small target circle vase as well as this small jar which was actually a small dollar spot oil diffuser I emptied and painted a dark color by mixing a drop of black paint into target’s snuggly teddy bear acrylic paint. These vases are great ways to keep decor on a budget as you can restyle them with new stems throughout the season or take a new color of paint to make them fit your style as it evolves.
3. Give outdated ceramic Pumpkins a new life
Paint is the most cost effective way to transform outdated decor. I used the snuggly teddy bear paint and a white paint called snow flurry which are both neutral colors to transfer these two pumpkins from a couple years ago to resemble the trendy target ceramic pumpkins. I mixed the paints to get my desired colors and painted the stems a little lighter for a slight contrast.
4. Swap your Candle Sticks for fall toned colors
Candles are a staple of fall decor as they help create a cozy and warm ambiance. An easy swap I made was switching out the white candles that were in these target candle holders (no longer available) with these tapered candles from hobby lobby in the color Warm Tan. Candles, especially candle sticks are an easy decor piece to bring a cozy fall feeling into the space while utilizing existing items.
5. Add a fall inspired Hand Towel
Consider incorporating a hand towel that hits the mark on current trends or that pulls the room together is worth it if you can stay in budget. This target bath towel has a beautiful rusty look. Its simple but still seasonal with the GRACIAS lettering.
6. Try a Trendy Color Scheme
Sometimes the classic orange and black color scheme of fall can feel too intense and fall flat when aiming for a modern look. Trendy color schemes for this year include neutrals and pink fall decor.
7. Create a Shelfie Moment
Create a beautifully curated look in your bathroom shelves. Swap out existing decor for small frames with fall motifs, pumpkins and any other fall-esque decor pieces that fit the scale of your shelves. One beautifully crafted moment in your bathroom can make a space feel instantly decorated and elevated.
